Strew News: June 2026

Almost every day we’re improving Strew. Our goal is to serve the home educating parent by providing the best home ed tools going.

…and we’re just getting started! Follow along for updates.

This post covers what’s new in June 2026:

👋 New Onboarding

When new users get started with Strew they used to see a simple wizard asking them for basic details and then they were pretty much thrown straight into the Strew feed.

To help new users find their way we now provide a few check-lists that help guide them through the app. Here’s hoping it helps parents get up to speed quicker.

We will continue to optimise this going forwards, but this was one of the big focuses in June.

Psst. Some of you are already referring friends and getting rewarded for it, it’s so awesome to see! Thank you so much! If you’d like to read more about referring friends, click here.

🐛 16 Bugs Fixed

This month has been heavy on the bug fixes as we’re working hard to make Strew much more stable and fast. You should now be seeing:

  • Far fewer (or hopefully no) crashes
  • Faster navigation
  • Fixed user registration
  • Better loading indicators

🔧 Other Improvements

This month we focused mostly on stability within Strew, (we’re still working on it in July). A chunk of the development went towards making it easier to get started, with lots of little tweaks alongside that:

  • Better integration with native controls (e.g. Android back button now works in app, swipe in iOS)
  • Faster database access (faster app)
  • Better colours for accessibility
  • Smarter in-app lowkey notifications.

There were a handful of other small improvements which should also help speed up the app.

What’s Coming Next?

So much goodness! We’ve still got a few more fixes in the coming weeks which should really bring Strew into a stable robust place for you. Beyond that we’ll start work on some of the aspects we asked you about in the survey.

It will likely be some of the following, though we’re still collating the feedback:

  • (Optional) Cloud Sync for multi-device
  • Improvements on the Study Points system
  • Recurring activities
  • Learning Suggestions / Reflections on recent focuses
  • Bookshelf
